Heritability of Plantar Interdigital Ridge Counts in Relation to Sex
Genetic basis of a‐b, b‐c and c‐d ridge counts on human soles
The mechanism of inheritance of ridge count of plantar inter‐digital areas has been studied among Brahmans of Sagar town of Central India. The correlation coefficient between ridge counts in various family relationships lend support to the concept of an additive genetic model
Genetic basis of a‐b, b‐c and c‐d ridge counts on human palms
The mechanism of inheritance of ridge count of palmar interdigital areas has been studied among Brahmans of Sagar town of Central India. The correlation coefficients between ridge counts in various family relationships lend support to the concept of an additive genetic model, especially for the b‐c or second interdigital area
Ridge counts of plantar dermatoglyphic interdigital areas and the relation of their trends to the anatomical axis
Brahman and Bhangi, two endogamous groups of Hindu society, have been studied for ridge counts of plantar interdigital areas. No significant sexual difference, excepting a–b ridge count for Brahmans, was observed. Similarly, nonsignificant bilateral variation is exhibited. No ethnic variation is observed as regards the mean total a–b, b–c and c–d counts. The distribution of ridge counts can be correlated with the anatomical axis of the palm and s…
