Can N 2 O net —a Canadian nitrous oxide collaboration network to meet greenhouse gas emission reduction targets
The application of nitrogen (N) fertilizer to agricultural soils results in the emission of nitrous oxide (N 2 O), accounting for ∼40% of Canada’s and 10% of global agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing these emissions through N fertilizer best management practices (BMPs) is critical to achieve the fertilizer-related emission reduction target of 30% below 2020 levels by 2030 set by the Canadian government. Self‐reported methods of cessation of adult male child abusers
This pilot study explored the pre-arrest self-selected cessation attempts of sexual offenders (N = 109) who abused children and often others. Four participants were dropped because of invalid responding (N = 104). While 74.3% of sample participants reported attempts to decrease or stop their sexual offending prior to arrest, 56% out of 100 who responded to the cessation question reported that they were able to do so. A Preliminary Examination of Racial Differences in Trauma and Sexual Aggression Among Adolescent Sexual Abusers
The differences in victimization and sexual abuse perpetrated by two groups of youths-African American (n = 110) and Caucasian (n = 57)-were compared in a sample of adolescent males residing in residential institutions. The youths were broken into subgroups by adjudication status and race for the analyses. Revisiting Recent Research on Social Learning Theory as an Etiological Proposition for Sexually Abusive Male Adolescents
This article examines social learning theory as a construct that is applicable to adolescent sexual abusers based upon recent published research. Bandura's (1986) work is used to outline the theory and then research on victimization, aggression, criminality, pornography and personality is reviewed to assess the theory as a reasonable fit for adolescent sexually abusive behavior. This study investigates whether insecure attachment distinguishes sexual from nonsexual offenders and whether insecure attachment is reflected in the choices of victims, modus operandi, and nature of the sexual acts. Incarcerated male sexual and nonsexual offenders were surveyed.
