A Structural and Discriminant Analysis of the Work Addiction Risk Test
The Work Addiction Risk Test (WART) was designed to measure “workaholism.” The present study examines the underlying dimensions of the WART and investigated the accuracy of the WART scores to discriminate between workaholics and a control group. The Marital Disaffection Scale was administered, along with measures of positive feelings towards spouse, problem-drinking behavior of spouse, workaholic behavior of spouse, and marital status, to 323 female members of the American Counseling Association. The Work Addiction Risk Test was administered, with a measure of anxiety and two measures of Type A behavior, to 363 undergraduates at a major southern institution to test for concurrent validity. Correlations of scores on the Work Addiction Risk Test with other scores support the scale as a valid measure of workaholism
Concurrent Validity of the Beck Depression Inventory as a Measure of Depression
The Beck Depression Inventory was administered, along with measures of anxiety, locus of control, and self-concept, to 211 undergraduates at a major southern institution to test for concurrent validity. Correlations of scores on Beck's scale with other scores provide additional support for Beck's scale as a valid measure of depression

Measuring Workaholism
A total of 20 psychotherapists, randomly selected from a state list, critically examined the 25 items on the Work Addiction Risk Test for content validity. Subjects were asked to identify 25 items from a list of 35 which most accurately measured work addiction. Selected test items have generally high content validity for the domain of work addiction

Response of Parents to Learning That Their Child Is Homosexual and Concern Over Aids
This study was a survey of 402 parents of gay and lesbian children from the northeastern, southern, midwestern, and western regions of the United States. Of particular interest was parental response to the knowledge of their child's homosexuality and the AIDS outbreak. Teenage pregnancy is examined from the perspective of a number of studies conducted with teenage fathers. Five commonly held myths about teenage fathers are contradicted by the research. Data on sexual knowledge and behavior, attitudes toward marriage and child rearing, psychological variables, and consequences of fatherhood are presented and implications for mental health practitioners are discussed

Although adolescent pregnancy is now recognized as a social problem of growing proportions, consideration of the teenage father is virtually absent from the literature as well as from the planning and implementation of social programs. A comprehensive review of the literature on teenage fathers is presented in this article, along with recommendations on how services to unwed adolescent parents of both sexes can be improved
