The goal of the research was to measure the impact of the meaning in life, life satisfaction, and the beliefs in orderliness and positivity of the social world on emotional and cognitive reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 317 participants were recruited over four days (April 1st–4th) during the start of the dynamic increase of the pandemic in Poland. The study was performed via open-access forums on the internet. Presenting a story of an ill person, in comparison to a description of illness, as well as activating a narrative approach toward this person increased the probability in subjects of helping behaviour—in this case the promise of donations of bone marrow for leukaemia patients or willingness to spend time on soliciting money for other people's medical treatment. The Structure of Personality In Six Cultures
A new structured nonverbal measure of Murray's needs (the Nonverbal Personality Questionnaire) and an established verbal measure (the Personality Research Form) were administered to respondents in six cultures: Canada, Finland, Poland, Germany, Russia, and Hong Kong. An analysis of the psychometric properties of the nonverbal personality inventory showed generally good levels of internal consistency reliability and convergent validity across the …
