How Do We Perceive Our Relations With Animals? The Predominance of Relational Nature and Physical Capacity
Designing an instrument to measure attitudes toward flood risk management in riverside populations
Addressing flood risk management (FRM) from an integrated and multidimensional perspective is crucial for effective flood management. Several studies advocate involving the affected populations in the decisions on the implementation of FRM measures, but only a few focus on systematically analyzing the citizens’ opinions on such measures. From a psycho-environmental approach, the main objective of this study was to design an instrument, a Likert-t…
Teotihuacan ancient culture affected by megathrust earthquakes during the early Epiclassic Period (Mexico)
Teotihuacan was one of the thriving cultures in the Mesoamerica pre-Hispanic times, located in the Central Valley of Mexico. The city-state was a dominant centre point during the Classic period and its influence affected other contemporaneous cultures. Around the year 550 CE, a continuous decrease in urban population and selective building destruction was noted, accompanied by widespread fire. The layout of the city is identified by an avenue tha…
An Exploratory Study about Patterns of Parental Home Literacy Activities during the Covid-19 Confinement among Spanish Families
Research Findings: The COVID-19 pandemic is leading to an unprecedented crisis worldwide. With schools closed, the frequency with which Spanish parents engage in home literacy activities with their children between the ages of 2 and 8 and the sociodemographic variables that influence this collaboration are unknown. The present research aimed to understand interactions among parents and children in the context of literacy activities at home. A tot…
Miocene to present-day tectonic control on the relief of the Duero and Ebro basins confluence (North Iberia)
This article presents a morpho-structural map at 1:50,000 scale of the confluence area between three regional units: (1) the Burgalesa Platform (Mesozoic; Cantabrian Mountains), (2) the Duero Basin and (3) the Ebro Basin (Cenozoic foreland basins). The map covers an area of 527 km2 in north Iberia. Additionally, structural lineaments such as joints are well preserved and documented in the Upper Cretaceous sediments of the Burgalesa Platform, repr…
Identifying key issues for university practitioners of garden-based learning in Spain
The presence of learning gardens in Spain is growing, and the current scenario is highly diverse in relation to issues such as participatory models or purposes, among others. In the context of the 1st National Meeting on organic learning gardens, we convened eight expert practitioners in a focus group. Their discourse was analyzed through content analysis, after which four categories were selected for co-occurrence analyses. The most important qu…
Estimation of the epicentral area of the 1912 Acambay earthquake (M 6.9, Mexico) determined from the earthquake archaeological effects (EAE) and the ESI07 macroseismic scale
Polygenetic sand volcanoes: On the features of liquefaction processes generated by a single event (2012 Emilia Romagna 5.9 Mw earthquake, Italy)
Ancient earthquakes hit the Quetzalcóatl Pyramid at Teotihuacán (México). Was it a stricken critical facility
