Understanding the Power of Social Media during Covid-19
Social media serves as a key mechanism for sexual minority young adults to connect with peers and to learn about COVID-19. We utilized focus groups to explore how sexual minority gender expansive college women (N= 28) engage with social media, including alcohol-related content on social networking sites. Expert consensus on facilitating the coming-out process in sexual minority clients
This article presents the results of a Delphi study conducted to generate expert consensus about the best techniques for working with clients in the coming-out process. The initial expert interview phase (N = 19) generated a list of suggestions, including two therapist prerequisites, 11 suggestions for creating a welcoming environment, 15 areas of assessment, seven areas of psychoeducation, and 46 other specific techniques. This study explored the relationship between therapist personality, self-reported lesbian and gay (LG) affirmative therapy competency, and demonstrated LG affirmative therapy competency utilizing an analogue methodology with 212 therapists-in-training. This study examines the relationship between multicultural events in group supervision, group climate, and supervisee multicultural competence using a mixed qualitative/quantitative design.
