Bashful No Longer: An Alaskan Eskimo Ethnohistory, 1778-1988
Describes the culture changes among the Kuskokwim Eskimos as Russians and then Americans settled among them. This book records the disruption and Americanization of the Eskimos and the gradual reassertion of their position and their formulation of the Native Alaskan sovereignty movement
