  • When Do Robots Go Green? Unveiling Mechanisms, Thresholds, and Spillovers of Industrial Robotics on Global Ecological Capacity

Open Access•Brahim Bergougui, Hamid Ghazi H Sulimany•ARTICLE•Business Strategy and the…•2026

This paper examines the relationship between industrial robotics adoption and ecological capacity, measured by biocapacity, using panel data from 50 countries over the period 2000–2024. We investigate the transmission mechanisms, non‐linearities, spatial spillovers, and heterogeneity characterizing this relationship. Our empirical analysis yields five principal findings. First , industrial robotics demonstrates a positive effect on biocapacity. S…

  • Advancing Sustainable Development in the Indo‐Pacific

Open Access•Sohidul Islam, Mustaqim Roshid et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Development•2026

Amid rising environmental pressures, the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and ecological sustainability in the Indo‐Pacific region remains underexplored, particularly regarding how economic growth and unemployment jointly influence eco‐growth. This study addresses this gap by employing a combined framework of two‐way fixed effects with mediation and moderation analysis, based on panel data from 14 Indo‐Pacific countries between 1990 …

  • The Role of Energy Transition, Digitalization, and Green Goods in Material Footprints and Sustainability

    Open Access•Sohidul Islam, Shahid Alvi et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Development•2026•References: 15

This study investigates how green and non‐green goods, energy transition, digitalization, economic growth, and population affect the material footprint of G‐7 countries from 1990 to 2023. Using an extended STIRPAT framework, we show that green and non‐green goods increase material footprint, demonstrating the resource intensity associated with production and consumption patterns. Economic growth and population further intensify resource demands, …

  • Mediating role of financial sustainability between board diversity and firms’ resilience

Open Access•Abdulaziz Ahmed Aljammaz, Suresh Ramakrishnan et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

This paper assesses the effect of board diversity on resilience with a mediating role of financial sustainability. The research sampled data from 166 Saudi companies from 2017 to 2023 and analysed it using a fixed effect framework. The findings showed that board nationality diversity and audit committee expertise may provide greater firm resilience. Firm size, leverage, board independence and government ownership were also significant determinant…

    Open Access•Saleh F A Khatib, Alhamzah F Abbas et al.•ARTICLE•Politics & Policy•2025

  • Who Benefits From Green Tech? How Eco‐Innovation and Process Eco‐Innovation Shape Emissions Inequality Across G7 Economies

    Open Access•Brahim Bergougui, Buhari Doğan et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Development•2025•References: 4

This study examines the asymmetric effects of eco‐innovation on income‐based carbon emissions inequality within G7 economies over the period 1990–2023. Theoretically grounded in innovation diffusion theory and political economy frameworks, we argue that green technological advancements exert non‐linear, directional effects on emissions inequality due to differential adoption patterns across income groups, elite capture mechanisms, and path‐depend…

  • Are the Shadow Economy and Country Risk Barriers to Financial Development

Open Access•Sami Ur Rahman, Faisal et al.•ARTICLE•International Social Science…•2025•References: 51

This study examines the impact of the shadow economy (SEC) on financial markets and institutions development in N-11 countries, using data from 1995 to 2018. Moreover, the study also examines the moderating role of country risk consisting of political (PR), financial (FR) and economic risk (ER) in shaping financial institutions and market development by managing the SEC. The study used panel unit root and cointegration tests for identifying stati…
