Who benefits most? Intervention-induced changes in the social networks of people living with dementia
For most people living with dementia, their social network shrinks as the disease progresses, especially when they move into a care home. Many experience major barriers to build social relationships in the new living environment and additionally there is a lack of effective interventions to promote social contacts between residents. Considering this, the aim of the present study is twofold: (1) to investigate the effect of two interventions (phys…
Precision prevention in occupational health
Introduction: Precision prevention implements highly precise, tailored health interventions for individuals by directly addressing personal and environmental determinants of health. However, precision prevention does not yet appear to be fully established in occupational health. There are numerous understandings and conceptual approaches, but these have not yet been systematically presented or synthesized. Therefore, this conceptual analysis aims…
The Second Side of the Coin—Resilience, Meaningfulness and Joyful Moments in Home Health Care Workers during the Covid-19 Pandemic
Nursing literature predominantly focuses on job demands but is scarce for resources related to nurses' work. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, resources that can buffer the health-impairing effects of increased demands gain importance. The aim of this study is to explore resilience, meaning of work and joyful moments in home health care workers in South Germany during the pandemic. Resilience and meaning of work were measured quantitatively; …

The Rock Paintings of the Chumash
The Shield Motif in Plains Rock Art
The representation in the prehistoric and the early historic art of North America of circular shields or human figures whose torsos are depicted in the form of a shield provide a revealing indication of how widespread and complex was the diffusion of objects, ideas, and forms on the continent. Drawings of the shields and of shield figures are found in rock paintings and engravings, on paintings and skins, and on incised bark scattered throughout …

Horned Owl Cave, Wyoming
Horned Owl Cave in the northern Laramie Mountains of Wyoming has provided a wide array of normally perishable artifacts in association with pictographs. Material objects recovered from the cave include fragments of atlatls, darts, shaft feathers, arrowshafts, blunt arrows, bark, weaving, bone tools, pottery, and lithic objects. The disturbed condition of the fill of the cave prevented a controlled stratigraphy, but typologically the material fall…
The Diablo Cave Paintings
It has only been within the past decade that a number of professional art historians have begun to devote their effort to a study of primitive art. Within the last few years, important studies have been produced on many phases of the primitive art of Africa, of Central America, and of the South Seas. But one need not go so far afield to encounter many intriguing examples of primitive art, for in North America, there remains an almost untouched fi…
The Petroglyphs of Dinwoody, Wyoming
In 1873 the party of Capt. William A. Jones reported that 'throughout the Wind River country of Wyoming many pictographs have been found, and others reported by the Shoshoni Indians.' Thus the Dinwoody petroglyphs and those in the surrounding area have been known for three-quarters of a century, and yet were not even surveyed for archaeological purposes until 1938 and 1939. This, of course, is typical of the fate of petroglyphs over most of North…
