  • A1A2BO and Rh (D) Blood Groups of Abujhmaria-A Primitive Tribe of Madhya Pradesh India

Open Access•Vishwa Deepak Singh, Mitrashree Mitra et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1995

Blood group [A1A2BO and Rh (D)] survey was conducted among Abujhmaria, a primitive tribe of India inhabiting Bastar district of Madhya Pradesh state. The tribe exhibited preponderance of blood group O (35.32%) followed by that of B and A, and quite a low incidence of Rh-VES (1.18%)

  • Selection Intensity in Koras

Open Access•Upali Basu, Debashis Basu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1995•Cited by: 1

The present study gives the information about the average number of livebirths per ever - married Kora woman aged 40 years and above which appearars to be (X̄) 5.80 and its (V1) is 7.82. The mean number of livebirths to women of all ages and the totalnumber of premature death (P4) is 3.31 ± 0.10 and 28/57 %. The number of stillbirths and abortions are 7.10% to the total number of mothers conceived (467). It is also apparent that the mortality com…

  • Data on ABO Blood Group of Binghwars and Their Phylogenetic Position Among Other Tribal Populations of Madhya Pradesh, India

Open Access•Manjula Guha, Debashis Basu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1995

Date on ABO blood group system in Binjhwar tribe of Madhya Pradesh, India are presented. Frequencies of phenotype O, A, B, and AB blood groups among Binjhwars were 38.22%, 23.15%, 30.82% and 7.81%, respectively and allele A, B and O values are 0.1688. 0.2163 and 0.1649, respectively. The genetic distance analysis revealed that the present tribal population is genetically closer to the Gond. Halba, Bhatra, Bhil and Bhilal tribes inhabiting this Ce…

  • Biology of Saryupari Brahmins of Chhattisgarh, Central India

Mitashree Mitra, Upali Datta et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•1995

In July-November, 1986, Saryupari Brahmins of Chhattisgarh (Central India) have been investigated for the distribution of ABO blood groups, Rh factor, ABH secretion, PTC taste sensitivity and seven morphological traits. The important findings in brief are as follows: 1. The frequency of O blood group is slightly dominant (38.91%) and gene frequency exhibit r > q > p pattern. Statistical analysis (D/sigma = 0.5447) show that the population is in g…

  • Data on ABO and Rhesus Blood Groups Among Kamars-A Primitive Tribal Population of Madhya Pradesh

    Open Access•Nitin Mallk, C S Singhrol•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1992

The blood groups ABO and RH(D) have been studied in 120 unrelated individuals belonging to both the sexes of the Kamar tribal population of Raipur district in Madhya Pradesh. The observed gene frequencies for ABO locus are 0.3428 for A, 0.2763 for B and 0.3809 for O. The Rh(D) negative group is observed to be absent in the present study.Key Words: Blood GroupsPolymorphismTribeMadhya Pradesh

  • Genetic distance and gene diversity among ten endogamous groups in Chhattisgarh, Central India

Open Access•M Roy, Michelle Elezabeth Roy et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1990•References: 1

A genetic survey has been conducted among the Rawats and Telis, two endogamous caste populations of Chhattisgarh, Central India. Using the gene frequency data for three genetic loci, genetic distance among ten population groups have been calculated. The gene differentiation among these population groups is only about 2 per cent

  • A study of nine anthroposcopic traits among the three tribes of the Bastar District in Madhya Pradesh, India

Upali Datta, Mitashree Mitra et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•1989

Nine anthroposcopic traits, namely palmar and plantar digital formulae, hand-clasping, armfolding, handedness, tongue rolling and folding, ear lobe attachment and legfolding have been studied in the three tribal populations--Murias, Bisonhorn Marias and Halbas--from the Bastar District in Madhya Pradesh (Central India). An attempt has been made to compare the results of the present study with other population groups of Central India.
