  • Intersectionality

    Open Access•Alejandro Echeverria•ARTICLE•Annals of Anthropological Practice•2025•References: 28

In this piece, I explore the "pretty word" of intersectionality to contribute to existing discussions on its usage as an analytical framework and tool among social justice projects. Through my personal queer journey in podcasting, the coming-out experience, and traversing across various spaces, I highlight the importance of incorporating a relational, embodied, and geographic perspective within intersectionality. I reveal how this perspective can…

Aniñir is an urban Mapuche poet who lives in Santiago, Chile and displays interest in recovering his roots. While he defies preconceptions about indigenous peoples in his poetry, he includes Mapuche culture in his depiction of mapurbe identity. In his writing, Aniñir incorporates…

    Alejandro Echeverria•ARTICLE•Latin American and Caribbean…•2018•References: 6

In recent decades, the Mapuche people’s demand for the return of ancestral territories has intensified. This article examines how Adriana Paredes Pinda’s poetry anthology Parias Zugun gives voice to Mapuche spirits that inhabit the land, and how she conceptualizes landscapes as spaces that preserve the memory of important past and present events that constitute the Mapuche historic memory: the foundational story of Treng-Treng and Kay-Kay, the 19…

Open Access•Alejandro Echeverria, Andrea Echeverría•ARTICLE•Latin American Research Review•2017
