Measurement of tourism eco-efficiency, spatial distribution, and influencing factors in China
Promoting sustainable development in the tourism industry is a common challenge faced globally. Enhancing tourism eco-efficiency (TEE) has become the key to addressing this challenge. Exploring the driving factors through spatiotemporal distribution patterns is an important approach. This research focuses on the period from 2011 to 2020 and examines 30 provinces in China (excluding Tibet, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) as the research subjects. Mu…
Environmental protection strategic alliance and enterprise green innovation
Environmental protection strategic alliances serve as a critical mechanism for enterprises to facilitate green transformation in response to stringent environmental regulations. Drawing on data from A-share listed firms in China spanning 2007–2022, this study explores how strategic alliances focused on environmental protection influence enterprises’ green innovation activities. The results reveal that strategic collaborations centred on environme…
Relationship between TyG-related index and hearing loss in people over 45 s in China
Background: Triglycerides and fasting glycemic index are biomarkers used to assess the risk of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. It and its derivatives such as the TyG-BMI index are currently able to reflect the degree of insulin resistance and are closely related to a variety of metabolic diseases. The relationship between the TyG-BMI index and hearing loss remains underexplored, particularly in the context of aging and public health. T…
Pathways to tourism eco-efficiency
Balancing tourism growth with environmental pressures is an urgently needed complex issue. Tourism eco-efficiency (TEE) has become an important tool for addressing this challenge. We use complexity theory to understand the intricacies of improving TEE, focusing on data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2011 to 2019, and introduce a configurational perspective to this field. The following conclusions are drawn: Firstly, we innovatively propose the Go…
A Study of the Effect of Anthropomorphism of Introductory Phrases on Tourists’ Environmentally Responsible Behaviour
Tourists’ environmentally responsible behaviour (TERB) is important for the sustainable development of tourist destinations. Based on social information processing theory, the article explores the mechanism of anthropomorphic/non-anthropomorphic guiding phrases on tourists’ environmentally responsible behaviours, and tests the mediating role of perceived loveliness and the moderating role of social trust. The study designed three experiments to c…
Achieving Sustainable Development Goal 11
Coordinating urban sustainability with socio‐cultural well‐being is crucial for achieving SDG 11. Existing research often focuses on single indicator systems such as Urban Eco‐Efficiency (UEE) and Urban Socio‐cultural Well‐being (USW), lacking a systematic evaluation framework for the coordination index between the two, as well as an exploration of high‐dimensional driving mechanisms. This study constructs the UEE and Socio‐cultural Well‐being Co…
Can Anthropomorphic Slogans Awaken Tourists' Environmental Responsibility Behavior? Experimental Study Based on Frame Effect Perspective
The sustainable development of scenic spots have attracted much attention in academic circles, and the influence mechanism of anthropomorphic information framework to guide tourists to enhance environmental responsibility behavior is not clear. Based on the framework theory and prospect theory, the study constructed a theoretical model of anthropomorphic information framework acting on environmental responsibility behavior. The results of three e…
Exploratory Study of a Preventive Intervention with General Population African American Families
The authors report the intervention implementation and outcome evaluation of the Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (SFP 10-14),involving a sample of African American families with young adolescents. Implementation feasibility clearly was demonstrated. A sufficient number of families was recruited successfully, retention rates were strong, and observer ratings showed high adherence to the intervention protocol. Control gr…
Quality of Parenting as Mediator of the Effect of Childhood Defiance on Adolescent Friendship Choices and Delinquency
Social scientists agree that childhood antisocial behavior portends adolescent delinquency, but there is little agreement regarding the theoretical processes that account for this behavioral continuity. Latent growth curve modeling was used to test latent trait and social influence explanations for this association. The analyses used data collected annually over a 4-year period from a sample of 149 boys, 157 girls, and their parents. Contrary to …

Childhood Experience, Conceptions of Parenting, and Attitudes of Spouse as Determinants of Parental Behavior
A model was developed regarding direct and indirect effects of socialization and spousal attitudes upon the supportive parenting and harsh discipline of husbands and wives. The data used to test the model were collected as part of the 1st two wawes of the Iowa Youth and Families Project, a longitudinal study of 451 two-parent families living in the Midwest. As hypothesized, quality of parenting received as a child, satisfaction with the parent-ch…
Stress, Support, and Antisocial Behavior Trait as Determinants of Emotional Well-Being and Parenting Practices among Single Mothers
Gender Differences in the Intergenerational Transmission of Parenting Beliefs
In the present study we tested several hypotheses regarding the manner in which adolescents' beliefs concerning both effective discipline and the impact of parenting upon child development are associated with the parenting beliefs and practices of their parents. We used data collected as part of the first two waves of a panel study of 451 twoparent families in the midwest. The results largely supported the hypotheses. The findings indicated that …
