Perceived discrimination and collective fear in Mexican-heritage adolescents
The present study aimed to investigate the relationships between perceived discrimination and collective fears in Mexican-heritage adolescents of immigrant families living in the U.S (N = 210) by revalidating a new scale of collective fear (e.g., specific fear in person, specific fear in family, and widespread fear). No More Magic Mirrors: Performing Intercultural Communication in a (Post?) Fairy Tale World

Nine Meditations on Difference and Repetition
In the spirit of Gilles Deleuze, who sought to interrogate the presuppositions of the ideas and concepts we assume as a function of our education and social existence, this essay uses poetic prose to reflect upon nine quotations from Difference and Repetition as they are relevant to questions of merit and distinction. Like Deleuze, the author assumes that allusive and even metaphysical prose employing neologisms and creative (re)interpretation of…
Challenges of de-/pre-colonial ontologies
Upon my first read of ‘Beyond postmodernism: A non-western perspective on identity’ by Jing Yin, I was aware that I was reading something with the potential to be a ‘classic’ article, the sort that

This special issue of Qualitative Inquiry has been edited to commemorate the influence of the scholarship of H. L. "Bud" Goodall Jr. to work in narrative ethnography. In this introductory essay by the editor of the journal, readers are provided with background and a brief conceptual frame for the issue
