Honoring Beautiful Connections”
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) is a rapidly growing therapeutic approach that to date has rarely considered the nuanced needs of LGBTQA+ individuals. This study explores what LGBTQA+ individuals consider important for healthcare providers (HCPs) to consider when providing PAT. A global sample of LGBTQA+ individuals aged 18+ who had experience using a classic psychedelic compound at least once in a non-microdose manner were recruited into an o…
“Let’s Talk About Stealing Sh*t”
Social media use has significantly increased in recent years, yet relatively few studies have applied criminological theory to understand how online spaces may influence offline criminal behavior. This study uses content analysis techniques to explore how social media users are exposed to socialization processes on an online forum that promotes shoplifting. Findings indicate that concepts derived from the social learning perspective—such as motiv…
Political Ideology and American Attitudes Toward Police Reform
Amid recent controversies in American policing, the authors draw on insights from political science to explore the case of “conflicted conservatives,” Americans who self-identify as conservative but who are operationally liberal in policy preferences. Immigrant Threat, Racial Competition, and White Resistance to Police and Criminal Justice Reform
This research draws on conflict-based accounts to examine how perceptions of out-group threats shape White resistance to police and criminal justice reform. Using nationally representative data from the ANES-GSS 2020 Joint Study, we find that White Americans who perceive immigrants as a criminal threat are more likely to prioritize the need for more robust social controls rather than supporting efforts toward reforming the police and the criminal…
Forensic isoscapes based on intra-individual temporal variation of δ 18 O and 206 Pb/ 207 Pb in human teeth
Isotopic signatures used in the georeferencing of human remains are largely fixed by spatially distinct geologic and environmental processes. However, location-dependent temporal changes in these isotope ratios should also be considered when determining an individual's provenance and/or trajectory. Distributions of the relevant isotopes can be impacted by predictable external factors such as climate change, delocalisation of food and water source…
