  • Présentation

    Emmanuel Faye, Denis Trierweiler•ARTICLE•Cités•2025

The breakup of the Yugoslav Federation, initiated by Slovenia and Croatia in 1991, provided a dramatic backdrop to the latent deepening of the Kosovo crisis. In 1994-1995, to stop the war in Bosnia, the West formed the Contact Group, an important multilateral body that would assume a crucial role in resolving this crisis in 1998. The Contact Group took its final form only at the end of 1995, when Italy joined its other members – the United States…

    Open Access•Emmanuel Faye•ARTICLE•Austriaca•2022

  • Thomas Sheehan: The Introduction of Insults into the Heidegger Debate

    Emmanuel Faye, Aengus Daly•ARTICLE•Philosophy Today•2022

Thomas Sheehan’s attack on my book Heidegger, l’introduction du nazisme dans la philosophie, addressed neither the book’s topic nor its arguments. He instead highlighted a few isolated details in a sophistic and biased fashion. Moreover, his exposition was interspersed with ad personam insults not typically found in philosophical or scientific discussions. Although I had hitherto resolved not to respond to personal attacks, I owe it to the memory…

  • From Categories to Existentialia: The Programmed Destruction of Philosophy

    Emmanuel Faye•ARTICLE•Critical Horizons•2018•References: 1

This essay tracks Heidegger’s thought from 1919 forwards to the decisive years of his political engagement, on behalf of the Nazi movement. Part 1 tracks how the question concerning Being devolves into the implicitly identitarian question of who “we” are. Part 2 addresses the “existential” of Befindlichkeit which Heidegger in Sein und Zeit positions as prior to understanding, and examines his esoteric mode of writing as the means to cultivate a p…

  • I.5. Arendt, Heidegger et le « déluge » d’Auschwitz

    Emmanuel Faye•ARTICLE•Revue d’Histoire de la Shoah•2017

This article offers a critical analysis of the ways in which Martin Heidegger and Hannah Arendt elaborated a “revisionist” rereading of modernity that reversed the assignment of true responsibilities. They linked National Socialism to the modern subject, reason and the Enlightenment, all of which it had targeted, rather than linking it to the extermination-based vision of the world that laid the groundwork for and implemented the destruction of t…

    Open Access•Emmanuel Faye•ARTICLE•Sens public•2017•References: 1
