  • Field-Dependent Introvert and Neuroticism: Eysenck and Witkin United

    Open Access•Bernard J Fine•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1972

Based on derivations from the theories of Witkin and Eysenck, it was predicted that field-dependent introverts would have a higher incidence of neuroticism (above the 70th percentile, as measured by personality tests) than any other combination of the field-dependence and extraversion dimensions. The relationship was verified six times utilizing data from previously completed studies. Broad implications of the possibly genetically based results a…

  • Note on Cognitive Factors Related to Factor B of the 16 Pf Test

    Open Access•Joseph J Fleishman, Bernard J Fine•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1971

A selection of 21 tests from the French, Ekstrom, and Price battery of cognitive tests and the Cattell 16 PF Test were administered to 54 Army enlisted men. Product-moment correlations and multiple linear regression equations were computed between 16 PF Factor B scores (considered a measure of intelligence) and the 21 cognitive tests. The multiple linear regression equation indicated that 70% of the variance of Factor B scores could be accounted …

  • Relationship between Individual Personality Variables and Body Temperature Response Patterns in the Cold

    Open Access•Bernard J Fine, Henry F Gaydos•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1959

While there is some evidence to indicate that strong and complex relationships exist between the psychological and physiological responses of human beings to stress-provoking stimuli (1, 6, 11, 12, 15, 18), much of this evidence is anecdotal or has been obtained using very small numbers of Ss. The present study was designed to provide additional information about, and substantiation of, the apparent relationships between certain psychological and…
