Niklas Luhmann on Contingency and Law. The Theory Behind Systems Theory
The text which is at the centre of the discussion in this paper was one of the many manuscripts on which Niklas Luhmann worked concurrently until 1972, and which he left incomplete. This fragment has now (2013) been published posthumously in Germany (in German) as a book in an edited version.
