    The metaphorical phrases Daughter Zion and Daughter Jerusalem are to be understood as appositional genitives referring to the city of Jerusalem in spite of a recent proposal to the contrary. They are part of a larger literary and cultural deposit of personifying the city and should be interpreted in that light.     This article attempts to identify the locations of the four levitical cities of Reuben's inheritance with present-day ruins.
