This article examines northern connections in the Nordic Bronze Age, focusing on interregional contacts in middle and northern Sweden. In the article, we argue that it is important to incorporate a northern perspective in the discussions about the Scandinavian Bronze Age and its networks. We focus on the Mälaren Valley region, especially the province of Uppland, and the northern parts of Sweden, in particular the coastal areas of northern Sweden.…

This article analyses the role of material culture in the enforcing of a colonial order in early modern Sápmi (Land of the Sámi, the indigenous people in northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia). In addition, the article focuses on the unequal power relations created through the collecting and cultural appropriation of Sámi objects. Archaeologies of “Us” and “Them”
This chapter explores some ways in which mining companies mobilize corporate heritage discourse to position themselves as stakeholders and knowledge producers, and in some contexts are redefining heritage as a resource. It argues that the implications of these new literary corporate forms are many and heritage scholars should pay attention to them. Corporate bodies have for some time developed initiatives to legitimize activities or demonstrate a…
