  • La discursividad feminista como pulso de vida, desde las lenguas del sur global contemporáneo

    Open Access•John Enrico, Juliana Enrico•ARTICLE•deSignis•2022

En un mundo que deviene sur, pleno de violencias y depredaciones humanas y de género hacia la propia humanidad y hacia la naturaleza, indagaremos las resonancias de las feministas tercermundistas negras en los feminismos del sur y cuir, interrogando los efectos críticos de la traducción cultural transfronteriza. Presentaremos una reflexión sobre los aportes de la discursividad feminista del tercer mundo (en el tránsito de fronteras queer / cuir),…

  • El Lenguaje Y La Vida

    Open Access•John Enrico•ARTICLE•Linguagem em (Dis)curso•2020

  • Possessor Raising, Demonstrative Raising, Quantifier Float, and Number Float in Haida

John Enrico, Jason Baldridge•ARTICLE•International Journal of American…•2011•References: 7

There are various non-canonical positions for possessives, demonstratives, quantifiers, and noun-modifying numbers in Haida. Their diversity in a language without case marking or agreement is of comparative and theoretical interest. We show how a flexible, lexicalist grammar formalism that works only with phonetically realized string-adjacent syntactic types—Combinatory Categorial Grammar (CCG)—can support a simple account of Haida discontinuitie…

  • Northern Haida Songs

Laurel Sercombe, John Enrico et al.•ARTICLE•Ethnomusicology•1998

This book describes the musical culture of the Northern Indians, who speak two closely related dialects. One dialect group lives on Graham Island, British Columbia, the other on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. recordings on which the book is based were compiled over a period of more than a decade from a wide variety of historical and contemporary sources. Representing the entire range of the musical tradition - a tradition that nearly died out an…

  • Toward a theory of syllabification

    Open Access•John Enrico•ARTICLE•Paper in Linguistics•1980

A proposal is made for the integration of syllabification into a generative grammar: the process of syllabification applies exactly once following or as part of the application of the morpholexical rules and prior to all (true) phonological rules. Various counterexamples to this proposal are either shown to be apparent only or else to be analyses that are less desirable than the analysis following from the syllabification hypothesis at hand. (The…
