Some Factors Affecting the Birthday-Deathday Phenomenon
Samples of individuals differing in sex, age, profession, eminence and fame, and historical period (total N = 3306) were examined for the presence of the birthday-deathday phenomenon. A decrease in the probability of death with approaching birthday followed by an increase was found in most males. Contributions to the History of Psychology: XXXVIII. The Hyperbolic Structure of Eminence
Using the results from previous work in which eminence measures of 698 contributors to the development of psychology were obtained, the mathematical function relating their eminence and rank order was obtained.
