Terminal lucidity refers to a sudden, meaningful period of clear communication shortly before death in patients who were previously confused or unresponsive. The literature describes a phenomenon with unclear contours and a form of continuum, with diverse consequences. Cases of terminal lucidity (TL) in children have recently been documented in contemporary literature, yet no studies have examined the impact on caregivers of witnessing TL in children.
