Arqueología experimental con huellas humanas en yeso
In this project, previous experimental studies on human footprints are analyzed and a series of experiments are carried out using plaster. Some footprints are made walking, others carrying weight and others running to analyze the differences between them and compare them with the oldest hominid footprints found, those of Laetoli
Impact of Cooperative Learning and Project-Based Learning through Emotional Intelligence: A Comparison of Methodologies for Implementing SDGs
Education for sustainable development (ESD) is a holistic and transformative form of education that seeks action-oriented pedagogy using self-directed learning, participation, and collaboration, among other aspects, and is suitable for developing active methodologies. Since affective-emotional aspects can contribute in the teaching-learning process, this work studies, through a case study, the comparison of the influence of two active methodologi…
Highlighting and solving analytical problems for hunting down hidden information from ancient papyri by surface techniques
Knowledge evolves based on past societies, often by studying cultural heritage objects, particularly ancient papyri. To achieve this information, Physico-chemical analysis of the papyri supports and inks is of concern for understanding variations in their chemical composition, structural relationships, and evolution over time. This review appraises at a glance the most relevant analytical characteristics of the main surface spectroscopic techniqu…
A comparative appraisal of Raman band ratioing and chemometric analysis for classification of ancient papyri
Papyri from past civilizations represent key information sources to understand historical societies and their culture. In general, the most critical information usually derives from the inks rather than the supports. In this work, we combine several analytical tools, including vibrational spectroscopies (FT-IR and Raman) and SEM/EDX spectroscopy, to characterise the inks of various papyri in the Palau-Ribes collection (Barcelona, Spain). The Rama…

Income inequality and self-rated health in US metropolitan areas: A multi-level analysis
The Structure of Government Intervention in African Agriculture
This article examines the determinants of various rates of agricultural subsidies (output, input, exchange rate distortions, and aggregate) using commodity-level data from eight African countries in the 1980s. Econometric results indicate that structural adjustment policies were more effective in reforming exchange rate distortions than in liberalising commodity markets. Output policies are determined within the national context while input subsi…
