Analiza sploščenosti organskih konic iz Potočke zijalke v povezavi z njihovo stratigrafsko in prostorsko lego. Preizkušanje domneve o razvoju orinjasjenskih konic z masivno bazo na primeru Potočke zij…
Članek obravnava količnik sploščenosti (največja širina / največja debelina) organskih konic z masivno bazo z najdišča Potočka zijalka v Sloveniji (117 konic) in La Ferrassie v Franciji (91 konic) v povezavi z domnevo o razvojnih težnjah teh konic v relativnem času, kot ga opredeljuje prvotna stratigrafija obeh najdišč.
The Mousterian Musical Instrument from the Divje babe I cave (Slovenia)
Divje babe I
The second part of the monograph on Divje babe I deals in detail with archaeological finds from this important Middle and Upper Palaeolithic site. Edited by Ivan Turk, the monograph contains 17 chapters, written by seven authors. At the beginning, methods used in research of the site and the stratigraphy of Palaeolithic finds are introduced, followed by six chapters, dedicated to lithic assemblage. Stone artefacts are analysed from different aspe…
Divje babe I
In the first part of the Divje babe I monograph, data from the field of the natural sciences is presented, analysed and interpreted. This is primarily stratigraphic, sedimentological and chronological data and data on the remains of flora and fauna. The latter includes detailed analysis of charcoal from a number of hearths and the remains small and large mammals, with a stress on cave bear. The series of absolute ESR datings and the climatogram o…
Viktorjev spodmol in Mala Triglavca / Viktorjev spodmol and Mala Triglavca
V zborniku, prvem s področja mezolitika v Sloveniji, sta obravnavani dve izjemno bogati najdišči na Krasu v zahodni Sloveniji: Viktorjev spodmol in Mala Triglavca.
Dating a flautist? Using ESR (electron spin resonance) in the Mousterian cave deposits at Divje Babe I, Slovenia
The Divje Babe I site is located near Idrija in northwestern Slovenia. The cave contains Mousterian cultural artefacts left presumably by Neanderthals as well as numerous Ursus spelaeus teeth and bones. Among the Mousterian artefacts from layer 8 is a femur with four artificial holes thought to be a bone flute and the oldest known musical instrument. Sediment analyses indicate that the deposit represents at least six major shifts in climate, poss…
Moustérienska »koščena piščal« in druge najdbe iz Divjih bab I v Sloveniji / Mousterian “Bone Flute” and Other Finds from Divje Babe I Cave Site in Slovenia
The most topical Middle Paleolithic site in Slovenia is presented in full and discussed in detail in this series. The Divje Babe I cave site became famous for the archaeological discovery of what current investigations indicate could be the oldest flute, made of the bone of a cave bear, yet discovered. The principal part of the compilation is dedicated to a typological, technological, acoustic and musicological discussion of the remarkable find. …
