    SYNOPSIS After an introductory note about some traditions of expeditions sent by the Zulu despot, Shaka, to the Northern Transvaal, the author relates the migration of some Lemba people, who, coming from Belingwe in Southern Rhodesia, stayed for a couple of years with Shaka as the King's medicine men, as told by old Rhodesian Lemba.     SYNOPSIS For a long time the Lemba have been supposed to close their prayers with the word Amen. Some Lemba prayers are quoted and shown to be an enumeration of their ancestors, the supposed Amen being the second part of the name of their great ancestor Baramina. — His cult is said to be connected with the chameleon, a being of the primitive ages, and he himself is considered to represent a Dana ancestor of the type elaborated by Prof. Jensen.     SYNOPSIS The name Shona for the inhabitants of “Mashonaland” is not a recent coinage, but is connected with the name Syuna or Sena, and various references in early writings are quoted in support of this. The people to whom the term, in various forms, originally applied are identified with the Lemba, who descended from two originally different groups, the Zambesi Sena and Fallashas, Black Jews from Abyssinia
