  • A review of physical growth in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder

    Open Access•Cherie Green, Cherie C Green et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Review•2015

  • Principal component analysis of shape variables in adult individuals

Open Access•Susan Wilson, Danuta Loesch et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1989

Human body shape variables were obtained by adjusting 34 distances between trunk/limbs, and head/face, landmarks, for an overall appropriate body size measurement. The adjustment was based on regression analysis. Principal component analysis was applied to thus defined shape variables to obtain shape dimensions in 99 normal adult males and 103 females. The first principal component either for trunk/limbs shape variables, or for head/face variable…

  • Some dermatoglyphic features of Australian aboriginals from Mornington Island

    Open Access•Danuta Loesch, Danuta Z Loesch•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1983•Cited by: 2•References: 24

Topologically significant dermatoglyphic patterns on palms and fingers have been analyzed in a sample of 118 Lardiil and 37 Kaiadilt males and females living on Mornington Island. The purpose of this analysis has been to demonstrate the applications of the topological classification in comparative studies and to point out some general developmental problems which have emerged from dermatoglyphic study of distant populations. The results are prese…

  • Dermatoglyphic total patterns on palms, finger-tips and soles in twins

Open Access•Danuta Loesch, Danuta Z Loesch et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1978

110 palms of MZ twins and 111 like-sexed pairs of DZ twins have been compared in respect of a concordance rate of the palmar, sole and finger-tip total pattern types. Dermatoglyphic patterns have been classified according to the topological method, and the distributions of the numbers of discordant pattern elements from homolateral, heterolateral and bilateral comparisons in MZ and DZ twins, respectively, are presented. The highest concordance oc…

  • Topological classification and genetical studies of dermatoglyphic patterns

    Open Access•Danuta Loesch, Danuta Z Loesch•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Evolution•1978•Cited by: 3

  • Badania właściwości genetycznych układów linii papilarnych dłoni i stóp

    Open Access•Danuta Loesch, Danuta Z Loesch•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1975•References: 13

The paper presents the results of genetical analysis of dermatoglyphic characters, as classified by the new topological method, introduced by Penrose and Loesch. Firstly, the difficulties in genetical analysis of non-metrical dermatoglyphic characters and the limitations of the traditional classification methods in this respect, concerning particularly sole patterns, are pointed out. Then, the principles of the alternative method of classificatio…
