This study aimed to investigate the accumulation of phthalates in the leaf epicuticular wax of Avicennia schaueriana and Rhizophora mangle. Leaves were collected from plants situated in three mangroves around Sepetiba Bay, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP) were detected in higher content in A. shaueriana leaf wax (44.26%) and in R. mangle leaves at 34.43%. A high incidence of plastic residue pol…
