Improving the Consistency of Formant Measurement
This study examines the inter-analyst robustness of formant frequency (F) measurements before and after agreeing a common measurement procedure. Long-time IPA member Ilse Lehiste died on 25 December 2010 after a brief bout with pneumonia. Her death marked the end of more than six decades of meticulous and ground-breaking research in many of the phonetic sciences and in several tangent disciplines within historical linguistics
