  • The transformation of mobility in post-đổi mới Vietnam

    Nguyen Van Minh•ARTICLE•Civilisations•2020•Cited by: 2•References: 51

This paper explores how mobility has changed in late-socialist Vietnam in the context of increasingly entangled intersections between private aspirations and state policies, economic development, and urbanisation. Based on "motorbike ethnography" in Ho Chi Minh City, the paper focuses on traffic as a major site where social actors negotiate dominant discourses on modernity, access to public spaces and citizenship. Traffic is also a marker of soci…

  • Age‐related changes of sulcal imprints on the endocranium in the Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata)

    Open Access•Nguyen Van Minh, Yuzuru Hamada•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2017•Cited by: 1•References: 58

OBJECTIVES: The degree of expression of sulcal patterns on endocasts of nonhuman primates has been shown to depend primarily on species (brain size) and age of the individual. It has been suggested that brain details on endocasts are reproduced better in juvenile than adult primates. Here, we investigated age-related changes in the imprint of the major sulci on the endocranium of Japanese macaques (Macaca fuscata) from the juvenile period to adul…

  • Aging-related changes in the skulls of Japanese macaques (Macaca fuscata)

    Open Access•Nguyen Van Minh, Toshio Mouri et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropological Science•2015•Cited by: 2•References: 4

We investigated aging-related changes in the skulls of Japanese macaques (Macaca fuscata). A total of 145 (70 males, 75 females) skulls from macaques aged 7.0–26.9 years (males) and 7.0–30.7 years (females) were measured for 22 craniometric items. Some skull dimensions increased from young adulthood (7.0 years) to the peak at 13.3–19.0 years in males and at 19.7–22.6 years in females. Some dimensions remained at their peak value right through int…
