Are pornography use motivations related to behaviors toward the romantic partner? A dyadic daily diary study
Individuals in couple relationships often use pornography. Previous findings are inconsistent regarding how pornography use may affect couples and tend to focus on overall use and broad retrospective indicators of relationship functioning (e.g., relationship satisfaction). No research has considered the motivations behind pornography use and how they relate to daily dynamics between partners. Yet, the approach-avoidance sexual motivation theory s…
A Latino Anthropologist in Arizona: Obligations and Opportunities
Arizona these days is a frustrating but fascinating laboratory for many contemporary social and cultural issues, with plenty of challenges for engaged anthropology. He challenges us to reconsider our criteria for ‘development’ and to engage in more dialogue with Cuban colleagues and citizens.—Editor

Reciprocity and Sustainability: Terrace Restoration on Third Mesa
Applied anthropologists are now commonly involved at all levels in rural and agricultural development work in Third World countries. Corresponding efforts in the United States, however, are much less common. This can be attributed in part to increased scrutiny and skepticism concerning past research efforts, which are frequently seen as unilaterally beneficial to researchers and of little tangible long-term gain to local people. No where is this …
