About the Origins of this Volume
We, a group of medical anthropologists, met in Hamburg from December 4th to 8th, 1988 to discuss the various culture-specific (or nation-specific?) strands that had developed out of the new and — as we discovered — also old field of medical anthropology. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
