  • Repair, Consumption, and Sustainability

    Open Access•David Godfrey, D Matthew Godfrey et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•2022•Cited by: 8•References: 52

Repair is an overlooked but important aspect of consumer behavior with implications for the social and environmental sustainability of consumption. This ethnographic study examines the interplay of repair and consumption by analyzing when and how consumers repair the objects they use. The analysis examines how conflicting and complementary practice elements can lead to object replacement and disposal or, alternatively, facilitate object repair an…

  • Service Innovation

    Robert F Lusch, Satish Nambisan•ARTICLE•MIS Quarterly•2015

In this article, we offer a broadened view of service innovation—one grounded in service-dominant logic—that transcends the tangible–intangible and producer–consumer divides that have plagued extant research in this area. Such a broadened conceptualization of service innovation emphasizes (1) innovation as a collaborative process occurring in an actor-to-actor (A2A) network, (2) service as the application of specialized competences for the benefi…

  • Service-dominant logic

    Open Access•Robert F Lusch, Stephen L Vargo•ARTICLE•Marketing Theory•2006

As one of its own foundational premises implies, the value of service-dominant (S-D) logic is necessarily in its open, collaborative effort. Thus, the authors invite and welcome both elaborative and critical viewpoints. Five recurring, contentious issues among collaborating scholars, as they attempt to understand the full nature and scope of S-D logic, are identified. These issues are clarified and refined, as is appropriate to this co-creation o…

  • The Service-dominant Logic of Marketing

    Open Access•Robert F Lusch, I R Record et al.•BOOK•The service-dominant logic of…•2006

The micronucleus test using peripheral blood lymphocytes has been used to study the clastogenic effects of saturated, cis or trans fatty acids in human volunteers. Consumption of diets rich in either saturated fats (palmitic acid), monounsaturated cis fats (oleic acid) or monounsaturated trans fats (elaidic acid) for 3 wk had no effect on either the number of micronuclei or the frequency of micronucleated cells in lymphocytes in culture. This stu…

  • Consumer Acquisition Priorities for Home Appliances

Peter R Dickson, Robert F Lusch et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•1983•Cited by: 3

This paper reports on research that replicates and extends the previous Guttman scaling studies. The Guttman-scaled priorities are compared to average years of ownership for 12 appliances. Some limitations of the technique are revealed, and the role of a new innovation that disturbs an otherwise stable acquisition priority is discussed

  • Factor Invariance of Nonwork Activities

    David R Chase, Jack J Kasulis et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Leisure Research•1980•Cited by: 5•References: 9

Five nonwork activity dimensions are obtained by factor analyzing 12 popular activities among males and females. Separate factor analyzes are performed for the years 1975 and 1976 and for males vs. females. This allows for the assessment of temporal and intergroup invariance of the derived dimensions. The data is also split in half to examine the internal consistency or reliability of the activity dimensions. Use of a factor congruence test revea…

  • Consumer Acquistion Patterns for Durable Goods

Jack J Kasulis, Robert F Lusch et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•1979•Cited by: 6

Durable goods will be the fastest growing sector of the consumer market in the 1980's. Through Guttman scalogram analysis, consumer acquisition patterns for twelve heterogeneous durables are examined. Ownership patterns are compared through split-half analyses, across data collected in two consecutive years, and between types of dwelling units
