Effect of parental socialization on student nurses' attitudes toward euthanasia
The present study examined the hypothesis that there is a relationship between parental socialization and attitudes toward euthanasia. Investigated are the effects of three specific socialization environments: warm/restrictive, warm/permissive, and hostile/restrictive. The attachment process and the resultant caregiving behaviors are crucial components of an individual's feelings of self-worth. Loss of valued relations and support may adversely affect a person's psychological well-being. When such loss is experienced during the later years of life, the reorientation of attachment needs may become focused on a pet as a source and object of caring. Adolescent Sexual Behavior in Middle America Revisited: 1970-1973
A resurvey of the same school system over a three-year period, 1970-1973, using an identical measure of adolescent sexuality, shows significant increases in coitus for 14and 15-year-olds of both genders. At 15, heavy petting and coitus with two or more partners also demonstrates significant increases. Statements regarding changes in adolescent sexual activity must specify the level of sexuality under consideration. To use change in coital activit…

Data obtained from 4,220 middle American boys and girls in communities of different socioeconomic status offer no evidence of a major revolution in the sexual behavior of adolescents. Similar behavior for both sexes, at culturally defined lower levels of sexual activity, was shown. Light petting was the earliest stage at which girls demonstrated the sexual inhibitions associated withthe traditional double standard. Regardless of differences in in…
