A Comparative Study of Terminally Ill Hospice and Hospital Patients
This study investigated differences between twenty-eight hospice and twenty-eight hospital patients who died within a specified time period in one county of Northeastern Ohio. The comparison found that hospice patients were younger, had more people living in the home, and had a shorter disease history. Faculty Response Rates to a Request for Information for a Study of Salary
A study of faculty was conducted at a state university to investigate response rates to a request for information relevant to faculty salaries. Faculty members were asked to sign an authorization form to release information from their personnel file and to submit a current resume that included professional activities. Only 25.5% of all 707 full-time faculty members agreed to release information from their personnel files, 14% refused, and 60.5% d…
The relationship of extraversion and neuroticism with job preferences and job satisfaction for clerical employees
A field study was conducted with 175 Civil Service clerical employees. The results indicated that extraverts preferred jobs with higher levels of cognitive task demands, pace of task demands, cognitive closure, extrinsic rewards and intrinsic rewards. Neuroticism was negatively related to these preferences except for extrinsic rewards, and the relationships were not as strong. Extraverts were found to be less satisfied than introverts with their …

This study investigated the employment status of the mothers and the role models selected by 154 women lawyers who had graduated from law school at different periods of time between 1920 and 1979. Androgyny Across Two Cultures: United States and Israel
The present study involved a cross-cultural comparison of 320 Israeli and 333 American students using the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) as a measure of sex-role orientation. The results indicated that fewer Israeli males were classified as androgynous. No significant differences were found in the masculine or feminine categories. It was found that Israeli and American females were very similar in terms of mean masculine and feminine BSRI scores. …

This study examined sex differences in persuasibility at differing levels of topic involvement. A pilot study was conducted to select topics which were of high and low involvement and which did not show sex differences in terms of agreement, interest or information about the topics.
