Profiles of Depression and Restoration in Nature-Based Group Therapy
This study focuses on a nature-based group treatment ( Flow with Nature [FWN] treatment) for working-age adults diagnosed with clinical depression. We searched for different subgroups of depression and restoration levels to see who, in particular, benefits from FWN treatment. In total, 108 people participated in the study at various locations in Finland. The participants were 44.8 years old on average (range = 19–64), and most were female (81.5%)…
The Materiality of Turku Cathedral's Spiritual Treasury
The article discusses indulgences as an instrument that provided the spiritual treasury of the Church with a material manifestation. We propose that indulgences reflected the Divine within the material world in four different ways: 1) by promoting particular locations as sources of divine grace; 2) by promoting the cult of saints and their relics; 3) by generating donations for the construction and renovation of churches, and 4) by being in thems…
Planetary well-being
Tensions between the well-being of present humans, future humans, and nonhuman nature manifest in social protests and political and academic debates over the future of Earth. The increasing consumption of natural resources no longer increases, let alone equalises, human well-being, but has led to the current ecological crisis and harms both human and nonhuman well-being. While the crisis has been acknowledged, the existing conceptual frameworks a…

Papal Justice in the Late Middle Ages
The Church in Fourteenth-Century Iceland
This is an edited version of Erika Sigurdson’s doctoral thesis, which she defended at the University of Leeds. The book deals with an interesting—and little studied—topic and period, namely the identity of the Icelandic upper clergy in the fourteenth century. Sigurdson’s approach and use of the Icelandic narrative sources are novel and innovative. Until now, scholarship has mainly concentrated on the earlier history of the Icelandic church, from …
Papal Justice in the Late Middle Ages
This is a study of the history and function of the highest ecclesiastical tribunal, the Sacra Romana Rota, from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries. Despite its importance for Christendom and in contrast with other important papal offices, the activity of the Rota has never been thoroughly investigated on the basis of archival sources, in large part due to the vast source material and the perceived "difficulty" of the subject. This book fills …
