  • The meanings of authenticity in early childhood education

Open Access•Wu Bin, Sarah Callahan et al.•ARTICLE•Social Sciences & Humanities Open•2025

Since the 1990s, the term “authenticity” has been increasingly used in the research literature. Its meanings and dimensions are manifold, encompassing diverse epistemological standpoints, yet are seldom explicitly defined. • ‘An abundance of cakes’

Open Access•Lucy Nicholas, Corrinne T Sullivan et al.•ARTICLE•Sexualities•2024

This article demonstrates the everyday and implicit means through which hierarchical gender binaries continue to be perpetuated. Observational fieldwork undertaken in three Australian early childhood settings with 13 members of staff and 53 children (ages 2–6) demonstrates how bi-gendered langu…

  • Social Influences on Abstinence Self-Efficacy Among Justice-Involved Persons

John M Majer, Sarah Callahan et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Work Practice…•2016

Social influences (social support for alcohol/drug use and social support for abstinence) were examined in relation to abstinence self-efficacy among a sample of 250 justice involved persons exiting inpatient treatment for substance use disorders. Hierarchical linear regression was used to examine social influences in relation to abstinence self-efficacy. Social influences were significantly related to abstinence self-efficacy when examined indep…
