  • Sex-Role Orientation and Attachment Styles of Sex Offenders

    Open Access•Mary M Schneck, Thomas G Bowers et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2012

Given the increase of individuals who have a history of sexual offenses, there has been an increase in research on the etiology of sex-offending behavior. The present purpose was to evaluate the relationship between sex-role orientation and attachment styles of males who were sex offenders. Analysis yielded statistically significant differences between comparison (n = 22) and clinical groups (n = 21) in gender roles, with little sign of the andro…

  • Behavior therapy better than placebo treatments: Fact or artifact

    George A Clum, Thomas G Bowers•ARTICLE•Psychological Bulletin•1990

We agree with Brody regarding the need for incr…

  • Predicting Neuropsychological Impairment by Screening Instruments and Intellectual Evaluation Indices: Implications for the Meaning of Kaufman's Factor III

    Open Access•Thomas G Bowers, Stel E Washburn et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1986

Neuropsychological impairment, as evaluated by the Halstead Impairment Index, was predicted on the basis of intellectual test scores, impairment indices from the intellectual test, and organic screening instruments. Traditional screening indices and tests performed relatively poorly, but a linear combination of Kaufman's Factor III scores and errors on the Benton Visual Retention Test yielded the best prediction of impairment. Kaufman's Factor II…
