    Over the past decade, the unfortunate reality is that the income gap has widened between Canadian families. Educational outcomes are one of the key areas influenced by family incomes.   • Comparison of Visual “Safe-” and “Shock-”Cue Importance in Discriminated Avoidance Learning

    Rats reached criterion for discriminated avoidance acquisition significantly faster under a 180-sec. than under a 30-sec. safebox confinement. Reversal (Exp. 1) and extinction (Exp. 2) of the original avoidance response were both facilitated by removal of either original safe or shock cues.
