Immersyjne doświadczenie kultury. Wykorzystanie AI, VR i AR w promocji dziedzictwa i edukacji
The progressing development of technologies has led to the formation of artificial intelligence, and its generative variety as well as virtual platforms. The creation of alternative realities is affecting education and culture as well. Immersive tools based on artificial intelligence, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are being adapted to the audience. The technologies are becoming tools for cultural education, and the promotion of …
Do Implicit Learning Deficit and Dyslexia Go Together? An fMRI and Behavioral Study
What is the relationship between literacy skills and implicit learning? To address previous mixed findings, we compared school-aged readers, typical (CON, n = 54) and with dyslexia (DYS, n = 53), in relation to their performance on a serial reaction time task. For the first time, we also included an isolated spelling deficit group (ISD, n = 30) to control for distinctive effects of reading and spelling deficits. A linear reaction times analysis d…
Cechy użytkowników języków obcych sprzyjające interkomunikacji (komunikacji w językach pokrewnych)
The article reflects on individual differences of foreign language users from the standpoint of polylingual communication in two related languages (intercommunication), on the basis of the work of Paolo Balboni on intercomprehension, intercommunication and useful approaches to foreign language learning. The author attempts to elaborate a list of individual characteristics which facilitate intercommunication (a conversation in which the participan…
The Nencki Affective Picture System (Naps)
Selecting appropriate stimuli to induce emotional states is essential in affective research. Only a few standardized affective stimulus databases have been created for auditory, language, and visual materials. Numerous studies have extensively employed these databases using both behavioral and neuroimaging methods. However, some limitations of the existing databases have recently been reported, including limited numbers of stimuli in specific cat…
Electrophysiological evidence for the magnocellular‐dorsal pathway deficit in dyslexia
In adults, the onset of coherent motion compared to random motion in a random dot kinematogram leads to a right hemispheric amplitude advantage of the N2 response. The source of this asymmetry is believed to lie in the motion selective MT+ cortex. Here, we tested whether the right tempo-parietal N2 component shows a similar regularity in children. In particular, we were interested in whether coherent vs. incoherent motion modulates the amplitude …
Rozplanowanie wnętrz świątyni Hatszepsut w Deir El-Bahari na tle świątyń Nowego Państwa
The Hatshepsut temple is situated on the western bank of the Nile River. It followed the example of the Mentuhotep I temple from the time of the Middle Kingdom and it was the first terraced temple in the period of the New Kingdom. According to pravailing rules the initial phase of a temple complex was a lower temple located on the eastern edge of the Asasif valley. A processional alley led from the lower to the upper Hatshepsut temple. The upper …
Masculinity, Femininity, and Transsexualism
Visual–spatial-frequency model of cerebral asymmetry
In this article, the authors present a review of research on the role of the 2 hemispheres in processing spatial frequencies. J. Sergent (1982a) postulated that the hemispheres differ in their sensitivity to frequency characteristics of the sensory outputs on which cognitive processes are performed. Specifically, she proposed that the right hemisphere displays greater efficiency than the left hemisphere in processing low-spatial-frequency content…
