This study tested the appropriateness of Outcome Questionnaire-45 norms for Asian and Pacific Islander students. The relationship between interpersonal distress and psychological health was investigated using a sample of 185 college undergraduates. In this paper, ancient Greek and Zulu sacrificial ritual are compared in order to test the validity of Burkert's hypothesis about the origins and function of sacrifice. Similarities and differences between the two ritual systems are analysed. The Zulus do not clearly differentiate between Olympian and chthonic deities and sacrifices and seem to sacrifice exclusively to or for the shades or ancestors. An Effect-Size Comparison of the Beck, Zung, and Hamilton Rating Scales for Depression
Three widely used measures of depression, the Beck Depression Inventory, Zung Self-rating Depression Scale, and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression, were used in an analysis of treatment effects over time. Results were not consistent with those of an earlier meta-analysis of Lambert, Hatch, Kingston, and Edwards in 1986.
