Predictions of X-linked inheritance for human characteristics
Human spatial abilities: Psychometric studies and environmental, genetic, hormonal, and neurological influences
Use of Moos' Ward Atmosphere Scale in a Residential Setting for Mentally Retarded Adolescents
A slightly modified version of the Ward Atmosphere Scale was administered to staff members and students at a residential center for mildly and moderately retarded adolescents. This report provides evidence for the applicability and usefulness of the instrument with this population. Differences between staff's perceptions of the environment and their image of an ideal environment, and between staff's and students' perceptions of the school environ…
Sex differences in human spatial ability: Not an X‐linked recessive gene effect
Spatial visualization scores were obtained on the members of two hundred families. Large sex differences favoring males were found in both parents and offspring. Familial correlations, however, did not order themselves as predicted from the theory that human spatial visualization is under the control of an X‐linked recessive gene. The results are compatible with a sex limitation and/or socialization theory of ability acquisition
Attribution and behavior: Two field studies
