Colorectal cancer care in Uganda
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an important cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality in both Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and Uganda. Despite national progress in cancer awareness and policy development, CRC care remains limited by resource constraints. Coming of age in a straight white man’s geography
In this intervention, we consider how relational thinking about our positions and experiences can contribute to a feminist, anti-oppressive praxis in geography. Hosting a critical dialogue amongst ourselves, we collectively reflect on our experiences coming of age in a discipline marked by ongoing forms of coloniality, racism, sexism, and trans/homophobia in an attempt to find commonalities across our different identities and experiences. Focusing on urbanization in Mumbai, India, this paper examines the growth of the service sector through the re-shaping of an urban periphery. This article illustrates the potential of drawing as a creative method to document and analyse the shifting insider-outsider status of the researcher during fieldwork.
