The delinquent personality is frequently conceptualized as being marked by a high degree of impulsivity. Two empirical studies are discussed, which, taken together, contradict the hypothesis that delinquent behavior is related to impulsivity and suggest that the existing measures of impulsivity do not tap the same dimension
