La légende d’Oedipe est arrivée jusqu’à nous dans des poèmes tardifs, puisque toutes les épopées du cycle thébain sont perdues. C’est pourtant une de celles où les éléments mythiques, étant le plus aisément discernables, sont aussi le plus intelligibles.
