Haft Tepe Roundels: An Example of Middle Elamite Art
Two carved bitumen roundels found at the Middle Elamite site of Haft Tepe are compared with similar roundels from Susa. Evidence from excavations and stylistic analysis prove that these roundels are examples of Middle Elamite artistic production, and are not to be assigned to northern Iran, as some scholars have done. An important building considered as public building of religious character has been excavated at the site of Zaghe in the plain of Qazvin. It is two-roomed rectangular structure one room is U-shaped the other is an annex.
