  • In Internet we trust

Gül Seçkin, Susan Hughes et al.•ARTICLE•Information Communication & Society•2021

The socio-technological context of health care wherein patient-consumer involvement is central increases the importance of examining the impact of Internet information on health-related attitudes and behavior. This paper examined the extent to which deployment of e-health information is associated with patient distrust and non-adherence. We examined the hypothesized associations in gender-stratified subsamples to uncover whether any differential …

    Peter A Campbell, Patricia Campbell•ARTICLE•Health Sociology Review•2018•References: 21

In January 2017, the ‘abortion pill’ was finally used legally in Canada. This paper provides a sociotechnical analysis of the controversy surrounding RU486 in Canada, focusing on its entry into public discourse, 1990–1995. Using approaches from science and technology studies, the analysis identifies the multiple hu…

  • Rich Video, Poor Video

    Open Access•Peter A Campbell•ARTICLE•Body, Space & Technology•2010

In this paper, I propose a shift in Jerzy Grotwoski’s theatrical ‘new testament.’ I argue not for the elimination of media on stage but instead for Poor Video, which I define as the conscious use of video and media that forces a perspective change for the audience, an intermedial effect, making them aware of the presence of technology in their art, their representation, and their lives. I use examples from my own work as a writer/director to illu…

  • Gender and post-conflict civil society

    Patricia J Campbell, Peter A Campbell et al.•ARTICLE•International Feminist Journal of…•2005•Cited by: 3•References: 4

Women have historically participated in revolutionary/liberation movements. A consensus among scholars working in the field suggests that once the broader aims of the movement have been achieved, women's public role and the concern for gender differentiated interests diminish in the post-conflict society. The aim of this study is to apply this hypothesis using the case study of Eritrea. Eritrea offers an opportunity to study a modern, successful …
