    After arguing that the previously unnoticed similarities between Anna Cora Ogden Mowatt Ritchie's Fairy Fingers and Eugène Scribe's Les Doigts de fée result from Mowatt's appropriation of the earlier work, this essay sketches the patterns of Mowatt's changes.
