  • Coarticulation, assimilation and blending in Catalan consonant clusters

    Open Access•Daniel Recasens, Maria Dolors Pallarès•ARTICLE•Journal of Phonetics•2001•Citada por: 19•Referencias: 22

  • A study of /J/ and /r/ in the light of the "DAC" coarticulation model

    Open Access•Daniel Recasens, Maria Dolors Pallarès•ARTICLE•Journal of Phonetics•1999•Citada por: 13•Referencias: 11

  • A model of lingual coarticulation based on articulatory constraints

Daniel Recasens, Maria Dolors Pallarès et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of the Acoustical…•1997

The magnitude and temporal extent of consonantal and vocalic coarticulation are reported for VCV sequences with two vowels (/i/, /a/) and seven consonants (/p/, /n/, dark /l/, /s/, /∫/, /ɲ/,/k/). Different degrees of articulatory constraint, or DAC values, are assigned to the consonants and vowels based on knowledge of their articulatory properties, in particular, the degree of involvement of the tongue dorsum in closure or constriction formation…

  • Velarization degree and coarticulatory resistance for /I/ in Catalan and German

    Open Access•Daniel Recasens, Jordi Fontdevila et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Phonetics•1995•Citada por: 12•Referencias: 7

  • The contact index method of electropalatographic data reduction

Open Access•Jordi Fontdevila, Maria Dolors Pallarès et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Phonetics•1994•Citada por: 15•Referencias: 4

  • An Electropalatographic Study of Alveolar and Palatal Consonants in Catalan and Italian

    Open Access•Daniel Recasens, Edda Farnetani et al.•ARTICLE•Language and Speech•1993•Citada por: 7•Referencias: 11

Electropalatographic data for Catalan and Italian reported in this paper reveal the existence of two categories of palatal consonants, namely, alveolopalatals ([n], [λ]) and palatals proper ([j]). All these consonants are produced with a single place of articulation and thus are not good candidates for complex segments involving a tongue front articulator and a tongue dorsum articulator. A higher degree of coupling between the primary articulator…
