Mapping analyses to estimate health utilities based on responses to the OM8-30 otitis media questionnaire
Parent versus professional views of the developmental impact of a multi‐faceted condition at school age: Otitis media with effusion (glue ear)
Background. Several aspects of children's health and development are known from empirical studies to be associated with otitis media with effusion (OME; ‘glue ear’). The ‘diffuse image’ has been an obstacle to defining a core set of impacts about which inter‐profession and parent‐professional communication can be effective. Aims. The study quantifies similarities and differences in how the signs, symptoms, and developmental impact of OME are attr…
Psychoacoustical and cultural determinants of phoneme boundaries: Evidence from trading F0 cues in the voiced-voiceless distinction
The devoicing of voiced fricatives
Selectivity for Distortions and Words in Speech Perception
An attempt was made to determine the role of two types of perceptual selectivity in speech perception: (1) selection of a set of acoustical features characterizing one word in a small vocabulary, specially listened for; (2) selection of various acoustical distortions through which the speech stimuli as a whole were passed. Two experiments directed at the first possibility failed to demonstrate tuning, although the selective listening instructions…
Perceptual processing of coarticulation-a case study of /l
Perception and Production: Some Correlations on Voicing of an Initial Stop
Various measures of the perception and of the production of voicing contrasts in initial stop consonants were intercorrelated to investigate a possible relationship between articulation and perception. The results showed inter-dependencies of factors within perception but no significant correlations between perception and production measures
Correlations between successive segment durations: Values in Clusters
Abbreviation of consonants in English pre- and post-vocalic clusters
The devoicing of voiced fricatives
Abbreviation of consonants in English pre- and post-vocalic clusters
