This study investigates the social-psychological underpinnings of two related yet distinct constructs: ethnocentrism and Croatian national-minority identity. The research was motivated by the need to clarify how personality traits, ideological orientations, and social worldviews intersect to shape these constructs among Croats living in Vojvodina, Serbia. The analysis is framed within the dual-process cognitive-motivational theory of prejudice an…

  • Povratne umirovljeničke migracije na hrvatskim otocima

    Open Access•Mario Baras, Mario Bara•ARTICLE•Migracijske i etničke teme /…•2013

Premda povratnički tokovi donekle mogu ublažiti dugotrajne negativne demografske trendove, dominantni su oblik povratnih migracija na hrvatskim otocima, napose malima, povratne umirovljeničke migracije. Time se pov…

  • A new approach to assessing the effect of birth order on the outcome of pregnancy

    Open Access•P Yudkin, P L Yudkin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Biosocial Science•1983

A new approach is suggested for assessing the relationship between birth order and pregnancy risk. Population data are used to estimate the risk of a poor pregnancy outcome after different reproductive histories. The risk of a poor outcome at the first pregnancy appears to be twice that at subsequent pregnancies, but no change in risk is observed between the second and fifth birth orders. If there has been a previous poor pregnancy outcome, the r…
